Griekspoor later shared his thoughts on the match, describing the playing conditions as "brutal" and expressing his sympathy for the four-time Major champion. "It’s a very unfortunate ending to what I felt was a high-quality match," Griekspoor remarked. "In the first set, both of us were serving exceptionally well. There wasn’t much opportunity to break either of our serves."
He praised Sinner’s performance, particularly during the tiebreak, where Sinner delivered some impressive shots, including a couple of aces that left Griekspoor with little chance to respond. "I was pleased with how I maintained my composure in the second set. I got a bit lucky saving that 0-40 at 4-3," he added.
