Noah Baumbach to Receive Director Tribute at 2025 Gotham Film Awards
Renowned filmmaker Noah Baumbach is set to be honored with the Director Tribute at the upcoming 2025 Gotham Film Awards, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. This prestigious recognition celebrates Baumbach’s impressive career, including his latest film, Jay Kelly, which stars Hollywood icons George Clooney and Adam Sandler.
Jeffrey Sharp, the executive director of The Gotham Film & Media Institute, expressed his admiration for Baumbach, stating, “As a three-time Gotham Award winner and five-time nominee, Noah Baumbach is one of our most cherished filmmakers. Jay Kelly, directed and co-written by Baumbach alongside Emily Mortimer, tells the poignant story of a movie star, played by Clooney, who embarks on a journey of self-discovery. The film explores his attempts to reconnect with his children after years of prioritizing his career. Sandler portrays Kelly’s loyal manager, Ron. The star-studded cast also features Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, Riley Keough, Grace Edwards, Stacy Keach, Jim Broadbent, Patrick Wilson, Eve Hewson, Greta Gerwig, Alba Rohrwacher, Josh Hamilton, Lenny Henry, Emily Mortimer, Nicôle Lecky, Thaddea Graham, Isla Fisher, Louis Partridge, and Charlie Rowe.
