In "Hallow Road," multi-award-winning actors Pike, known for her role in "Saltburn," and Rhys, acclaimed for his performance in "The Americans," portray parents caught in a harrowing race against time. After receiving a distressing late-night phone call from their daughter, who has accidentally hit another young woman while driving her father’s car, the couple embarks on a tumultuous journey filled with unexpected twists. As the night deepens, shocking revelations threaten to tear their family apart, revealing that they may not be alone on the ominous Hallow Road.
The film had its world premiere in March at the SXSW Film Festival’s Midnighter sidebar and opened theatrically in the UK on May 16, grossing an impressive $220,585 in its first two weeks. U.S. audiences can look forward to the theatrical trailer debuting nationwide on June 6, alongside XYZ Films’ chilling true-story exorcism thriller "The Ritual," featuring Hollywood stars Al Pacino and Dan Stevens.
Produced by Lucan Toh of Two & Two Pictures and Ian Henry of London Film & TV, "Hallow Road" was financed by XYZ Films with support from IPR.VC and Screen Ireland. XYZ Films will continue to handle international sales for this captivating project.
The screenplay, crafted by William Gillies and developed by London Film & TV, promises a compelling narrative that showcases Anvari’s unique storytelling style. As a British-Iranian filmmaker, Anvari has made a name for himself in the horror genre and co-founded Two & Two Pictures with Lucan Toh. His previous works include "Wounds" and "I Came By," both of which have garnered critical acclaim.
In addition to "Hallow Road," XYZ Films has an exciting lineup of upcoming titles, including "Something Beautiful," a new visual album by Miley Cyrus, and "In Cold Light," starring Maika Monroe and Troy Kotsur, both set to premiere at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival.
