Wolverhampton Wanderers have made the decision to part ways with manager Vitor Pereira following a disappointing 3-0 loss to Fulham, which has left the team at the bottom of the Premier League standings. The club has struggled significantly this season, failing to secure a single league victory and accumulating just two points from their first ten games.
Pereira, who joined the club last season to replace Gary O’Neil during a similar crisis, initially helped steer Wolves away from relegation. Under his guidance, the team managed to escape the drop zone, but unfortunately, they have been unable to replicate that success this season. The team has suffered damaging defeats against all three newly promoted sides: Leeds, Sunderland, and Burnley.
Last week’s defeat to Burnley intensified frustrations among the fanbase, leading to heated exchanges between Pereira and supporters. In a tense moment, he confronted the home crowd in response to chants questioning his leadership, requiring intervention from players and stewards to diffuse the situation.
Despite mounting calls for his departure, the Wolves board opted to retain Pereira in hopes of maintaining stability, especially after a series of significant changes in the club’s management in recent years. However, with the current performance issues, the future remains uncertain as Wolves search for a way to turn their season around.
