Basketball icon Nancy Lieberman is urging WNBA players to support Caitlin Clark and set aside any jealousy, as she believes Clark will be a significant driving force for the future of women’s basketball. In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Lieberman reacted to the WNBA All-Stars ranking Clark as the ninth-best guard in the league, despite Clark receiving the highest number of fan votes.

Lieberman, who was in attendance at the Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Springfield, Massachusetts, on August 12, 2023, emphasized the importance of unity among players. She likened the current situation surrounding Clark to the special treatment the Detroit Pistons had during the "Bad Boys" era when facing Michael Jordan, and to Tiger Woods’ dominance on the PGA Tour.

“Caitlin Clark is the future of the sport. Instead of harboring resentment, I encourage everyone to embrace her success,” Lieberman stated. “She’s currently playing at an elite level, and her statistics speak for themselves. I urge the guards in the league to celebrate one another rather than compete against each other.”

Lieberman also acknowledged the incredible talents of other players, including Angel Reese, who recently set another record, and praised Dallas Wings stars Paige Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale, along with New York Liberty champions Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart. “Let’s stop the nitpicking and focus on playing our best,” she added.

Despite the recent All-Star rankings and voting results, Clark has faced challenges on the court. The Indiana Fever guard has been dealing with injuries and has played in only 11 games this season, averaging 16.9 points and 8.6 assists per game.
