Vince McMahon Sells Shares in TKO Group to Endeavor: What You Need to Know
Vince McMahon, the former CEO of WWE, has recently made headlines by selling a significant portion of his stock in TKO Group to Endeavor Group Holdings, the majority owner of both WWE and UFC. On June 3, 2025, Endeavor Group, now operating as WME Group following its transition to a privately held company, entered into an agreement to acquire 1.579 million shares of TKO’s Class A common stock from McMahon. The deal was finalized on June 4, with each share priced at $158.32, resulting in a total transaction value of approximately $250 million, as noted in an SEC filing.
Following this transaction, Endeavor Group now holds 61.7% of TKO’s outstanding shares, according to the latest ownership disclosure. Earlier this year, Endeavor/WME Group was taken private in a massive $25 billion deal with private-equity firm Silver Lake.
As of April 15, 2025, Vince McMahon retained about 8 million shares in TKO, amounting to a 9.8% economic stake in the company, along with a voting power of 4.1%, based on TKO’s most recent 10-K report. McMahon initially joined the board of TKO Group but stepped down as a director in January 2024 amid serious allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking from a former WWE employee, detailed in a civil lawsuit. McMahon has categorically denied these allegations.
