Trump Nominates Tammy Bruce as Deputy U.S. Representative to the United Nations
Former President Donald Trump has put forward the nomination of Tammy Bruce, the State Department spokeswoman and a former Fox News host, for the position of Deputy Representative of the United States to the United Nations. In a recent post on Truth Social, Trump praised Bruce for her outstanding performance since she joined the State Department at the start of his administration in January.
Tammy Bruce brings over two decades of experience as a conservative contributor at Fox News and is a published author known for her critical views on liberal ideologies. Her notable works include "Fear Itself: Exposing the Left’s Mind-Killing Agenda," which reflects her strong conservative stance.
While the timeline for her potential transition to this new role remains uncertain pending Senate confirmation, Trump expressed his enthusiasm for her nomination. "I am pleased to announce that I am nominating Tammy Bruce, a Great Patriot, Television Personality, and Bestselling Author, as our next Deputy Representative of the United States to the United Nations, with the rank of Ambassador," he stated.
Trump commended Bruce for her "fantastic job" as State Department spokesperson, emphasizing her ability to represent the United States effectively on the global stage. Throughout her tenure, Bruce has been a vocal defender of several contentious U.S. foreign policy decisions, including the administration’s immigration policies and the deployment of private military contractors to aid efforts in Gaza.
Currently, the nominee for UN ambassador, Mike Waltz, is awaiting Senate confirmation, while Dorothy Shea serves as the acting ambassador to the UN. She previously held the position of deputy ambassador in 2024.
