Exciting First Look at Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey: Trailer Leaks Online
The highly anticipated first trailer for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey has made its way online, although it’s currently being screened exclusively in theaters. While we won’t share any links to the leaked content, we can provide a sneak peek of what to expect from this epic adaptation.
The trailer opens with a moody, overcast ocean scene accompanied by a haunting voiceover: “Darkness. Zeus’ law smashed to pieces. A kingdom without a king since my master died. He knew it was an unwinnable war. And then, somehow, somehow he won it.” We then meet Tom Holland’s character, Telemachus, the son of Odysseus, as he searches for his father. He approaches Jon Bernthal’s character, who admits he hasn’t seen Odysseus since the Trojan War. Bernthal then engages a crowd, asking, “Who has a story about Odysseus? You? You have a story?”
He continues, “Some say he’s rich. Some say he’s poor. Some say he perished. Some say he’s imprisoned.” The mystery deepens as he questions, “What kind of prison could hold a man like that?” The trailer concludes with a distant shot of a figure floating on a piece of driftwood, believed to be the missing King Odysseus, portrayed by Matt Damon.
Set to hit theaters on July 17, 2026, The Odyssey is a cinematic interpretation of Homer’s epic poem, chronicling the journey of Odysseus, King of Ithaca, as he navigates the treacherous path home after the Trojan War. This timeless tale explores themes of heroism, loyalty, cunning, and the struggle against divine intervention. Viewers can look forward to iconic moments from the story, including encounters with the Cyclops Polyphemus, the enchanting Sirens, and the powerful witch-goddess Circe, ultimately leading to Odysseus’ reunion with his wife, Penelope.
The star-studded cast includes Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Benny Safdie, Charlize Theron, Mia Goth, and Corey Hawkins, among many others. Directed by Nolan, who also penned the screenplay, the film is produced alongside his wife and creative partner, Emma Thomas.
