Carlos Alcaraz faced criticism for his attitude and body language during his recent exit from the Paris Masters. The young Spanish star struggled in his match against Cameron Norrie and was observed having a heated discussion with his coach between sets.
French journalist Benoit Maylin expressed his discontent, stating, “I didn’t like his attitude or his body language. He appeared frustrated and was heard telling himself he couldn’t do it.” Maylin emphasized the importance of maintaining composure, especially when not playing at one’s best.
He pointed out that tennis legends like Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Roger Federer often triumphed even when their performance wasn’t top-notch. “These champions fought with humility and resilience,” Maylin noted. “Rafa would never display such an attitude on the court. Alcaraz needs to be cautious not to let ego overshadow his game.”
As Alcaraz continues to grow in his career, striking a balance between confidence and humility will be crucial for his future success on the ATP Tour.
