Pittsburgh Steelers Address Fan Concerns Over Player Appearance at Trump Rally

You can now listen to Fox News articles! The Pittsburgh Steelers recently reached out to fans expressing concerns about team players attending President Donald Trump’s speech at the U.S. Steel plant in Pennsylvania. Quarterback Mason Rudolph, safety Miles Killebrew, and former running back Rocky Bleier, a four-time Super Bowl champion with the Steelers, were present at the event and presented Trump with a custom No. 47 jersey.

Fans voiced their discontent regarding the players’ presence, prompting the Steelers organization to respond. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the team emphasized in a letter that the opinions of individual players do not necessarily reflect the views of the franchise.

"We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us. As valued fans, your voice is essential in strengthening our Steelers community," the letter stated. "We understand that the recent rally in Pittsburgh has sparked a variety of reactions among our fan base. Our alumni and current players make their own choices that reflect their personal views and do not represent the entire Pittsburgh Steelers organization. Thank you again for your feedback. We value your passion and ongoing support for the team."

During the rally, Trump praised Mason Rudolph, suggesting he has the potential to be a franchise quarterback. "I happen to think a really good quarterback is a man named Mason Rudolph," Trump remarked, adding, "He’s tall, handsome, has a great arm, and I have a feeling he’s going to be the guy." He also complimented Killebrew, calling him a "killer" on the field.

This isn’t the first time Steelers players have shown support for Trump; former stars Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell actively campaigned for him during the 2020 presidential race, even attending a rally before a Steelers game.
