Paramount Pictures Acquires Original Horror Script "Suffer Little Children" by Rodrigue Huart
In an exciting development for horror fans, Paramount Pictures has secured the original script for "Suffer Little Children," penned by the talented writer-director Rodrigue Huart. The film is set to be directed by Huart, with Walter Hamada producing through his 18Hz Productions, thanks to their ongoing partnership with the studio. Additionally, producer and rights holder Pablo Cruz will bring the project to life through his Canana banner, while Nick Romano will serve as the executive producer for 18Hz Productions.
"Suffer Little Children" is a fresh reimagining of the 1976 Spanish horror classic "Who Can Kill A Child?"—a film that has achieved cult status over the years. While specific plot details remain under wraps, the original story revolves around a couple on vacation at a remote island, only to discover that all the island’s adults have mysteriously vanished.
The 1976 film, directed by Narciso Ibáñez Serrador, is based on Juan José Plans’ novel, "El Juego De Los Niños." Alongside "Suffer Little Children," 18Hz Productions is also working on several intriguing projects, including "Primate," "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin," and an untitled horror film directed by André Øvredal.
Rodrigue Huart is rapidly becoming a notable figure in the horror genre. He recently won the Midnight Short Jury Award at SXSW 2024 for his modern vampire narrative, "Transylvanie." Additionally, Huart has directed two short films that blend digital horror with found footage, titled "Trigger" and "Real," both of which premiered at Fantasia 2024.
For those interested in emerging talent in the horror film industry, Rodrigue Huart is represented by Range Media Partners and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Keep an eye on this project and Huart’s future works as they promise to deliver thrilling experiences for horror enthusiasts.
