PSG Dominates Real Madrid 4-0 in FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Semifinals

In a stunning display of skill and strategy, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) triumphed over Real Madrid with a resounding 4-0 victory in the semifinals of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. The French champions established their dominance early, scoring three times within the first 24 minutes, reminiscent of their impressive performance in the Champions League final against Inter Milan.

Fabian Ruiz set the tone, netting the opening goal just minutes into the match. Ousmane Dembele quickly followed suit, doubling the lead only three minutes later. Both goals came within the first nine minutes, leaving Real Madrid reeling. Ruiz then struck again before the half-hour mark, solidifying a three-goal advantage and leaving the Spanish giants with little hope of a comeback.

PSG took full advantage of defensive lapses from Real Madrid, with Dembele’s tenacity leading to the first goal. After dispossessing Raul Asencio, Dembele was fouled by Thibaut Courtois, allowing Ruiz to capitalize on the rebound. The second goal came when Dembele intercepted Antonio Rudiger, racing through to beat Courtois and make history as the first player since Opta began tracking stats in 2002/03 to record two goal involvements against Real Madrid in under ten minutes.

The third goal showcased a beautiful team effort, with Ruiz calmly slotting home his second. The icing on the cake came three minutes before full-time when substitute Goncalo Ramos scored from close range, celebrating with a heartfelt tribute to late Liverpool star Diogo Jota, a former teammate on the Portugal national team. Ramos’ homage included Jota’s iconic celebration, adding an emotional layer to PSG’s commanding win.

This wasn’t the first tribute to Jota during the tournament; earlier, Ousmane Dembele and Kylian Mbappe also honored the late forward with similar gestures after their respective goals.

With this victory, PSG now advances to face Chelsea in the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, vying for a £30 million prize. Under the guidance of Luis Enrique, who previously led the team to a treble this season, PSG will look to add another trophy to their impressive collection after their dominant semifinal performance.
