Paul Gascoigne Rushed to Hospital: Former England Star’s Health Update

Former England football sensation Paul Gascoigne, affectionately known as "Gazza," has been hospitalized after being discovered "semi-conscious" in his Dorset home. The 58-year-old legend was found by a friend in his bedroom and subsequently admitted to intensive care. According to reports from The Sun, Gascoigne has since been transferred to an acute medical unit where he is currently in a "stable condition."

His driver and personal assistant, Steve Foster, who was the one to find him, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from friends and fans. "Paul appreciates all the good wishes and hopes to return to his best soon," Foster stated. "Being in the hospital is the best place for him right now."

Gascoigne is expected to remain under medical supervision at Poole Hospital for several days. This health scare comes just weeks after he shared positive news about his life, stating that he feels better than he has in years. In an interview with The Mirror, he expressed hope for a brighter future and a desire to share his true self with the world through his upcoming autobiography, "Eight."

With an impressive career that included 57 caps for the England national team between 1988 and 1998, Gascoigne also played for renowned clubs such as Newcastle, Tottenham, Lazio, Rangers, Middlesbrough, and Everton. However, his post-retirement years have been marred by challenges related to alcohol addiction and mental health, which ultimately ended his coaching career after he was dismissed as manager of Kettering Town in 2005.

Despite the struggles, Gascoigne remains a beloved figure in English football, with fans recalling his unforgettable moments, including his iconic goal against Scotland at Euro ’96. Reflecting on that memorable match, former Scotland manager Craig Brown recalled, "I looked at my colleague Alex Miller and said: ‘Thank goodness for that!’ only for Gazza to score a world-class goal that left a lasting legacy."

As Gazza continues his recovery, fans and friends alike are rallying around the footballing icon, hoping for his swift return to health and happiness. Stay tuned for more updates on this beloved football legend.
