Aaron Rodgers Shares Tough Love at American Century Championship Golf Tournament
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers made headlines over the weekend at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament held at the picturesque Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Nevada. A video that surfaced on social media shows Rodgers encountering a young fan who playfully shouted that the NFL star nearly hit him with a shot.
Rodgers, known for his quick wit, responded, “Almost doesn’t count,” as he made his way to the next tee box. This amusing exchange was just one of two memorable moments the four-time NFL MVP had with fans during the event.
On Saturday, Rodgers found himself in another amusing interaction when he declined to sign an autograph for a fan. The fan had claimed to possess a ticket from a game in 2005 when Rodgers was still a backup quarterback to Brett Favre with the Green Bay Packers. When Rodgers asked the fan to name the player he threw a pass to during that game, the fan couldn’t recall. In response, Rodgers humorously labeled him an "autograph hound" and opted not to sign anything.
In the tournament’s final standings, Rodgers finished 15th with a Stableford score of 44. The competition was fierce, with former NHL star Joe Pavelski taking home the title with a score of 73, defeating Baseball Hall of Famer John Smoltz, who had previously expressed confidence in his chances of winning.
As Rodgers looks forward to training camp in his inaugural season with the Steelers, fans are excited to see what the future holds for the star quarterback.
