David Laub Joins NEON as SVP of Marketing and Publicity

David Laub, the former head of Metrograph Pictures, is making headlines with his new role as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Publicity at NEON, a position designed to elevate the studio’s marketing, publicity, and awards strategies. In this role, Laub will collaborate closely with Ryan Werner, NEON’s recently appointed President of Global Cinema.

Laub’s impressive track record includes his tenure at Metrograph Pictures, where he was at the helm since February 2024. During his time there, he successfully acquired and released notable films such as India Donaldson’s acclaimed feature debut, Good One, which garnered attention at both Sundance and Cannes, landing on over 100 year-end top ten lists. He also championed Santosh, a Cannes selection that made the shortlist for this year’s International Feature Oscar, and the award-winning April by Dea Kulumbegashvilli, which triumphed at Venice.

Prior to his role at Metrograph, Laub spent nearly nine years at A24, where he honed his skills across various facets of film distribution, including marketing, publicity, acquisitions, and exhibition. He was instrumental in promoting a diverse slate of critically acclaimed films, such as Charlotte Wells’ Aftersun, which received two Academy Award nominations, Lukas Dhont’s International Film Oscar contender Close, and Kelly Reichardt’s award-winning First Cow and Showing Up. Laub also contributed to the marketing campaigns for major hits like Everything Everywhere All At Once, The Florida Project, Uncut Gems, and Lady Bird.

Ryan Werner expressed his enthusiasm for Laub’s addition, stating, “David Laub has a tremendous passion for film. Finding someone as strategic, curious, and experienced was crucial for us. We are thrilled to welcome him to the NEON family and look forward to launching many successful campaigns together.”
