On Friday, King Mohammed VI of Morocco emphasized the importance of enhancing public education and healthcare as key priorities for the nation. However, he did not address the ongoing youth movement that has been actively protesting across the country, advocating for significant social reforms. This royal address was highly anticipated by the demonstrators, who have been rallying in the streets almost every evening since September 27.
By prioritizing improvements in education and healthcare, Morocco aims to address some of the pressing needs of its citizens, yet the lack of acknowledgment regarding the youth protests raises questions about the government’s responsiveness to calls for change.
