Lewis Hamilton Urges Ferrari to Push Harder for Victory After Challenging Singapore Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton has called on his Ferrari team to “go further” in their quest for victory following a challenging outing at the Singapore Grand Prix. Hamilton appeared set for a top-five finish as he aimed to close the gap on Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli. However, just a few laps from the finish, he faced a setback when his front left brake failed. Despite charging through the pack, he was forced to ease up, ultimately finishing in ninth place after incurring a post-race penalty.
Struggling with brake issues, Hamilton was compelled to cut corners, which led to the penalty that pushed him behind Fernando Alonso, who was gaining on him during the race. Following the event, the 40-year-old took to social media to share his reflections. “After a tough week, it feels good to be home. I had some time to reflect on my journey from Singapore, and the main emotion I’m feeling is gratitude,” he posted.
Hamilton expressed appreciation for the support he received after the loss of his beloved dog, Roscoe. He noted, “Even when things sometimes seem dark, there is so much good in the world. You just have to look for it.”
On the racing front, Hamilton emphasized the need for a positive outlook. “The media headlines only tell one story: one where we don’t get things quite right or things don’t go our way. Yesterday was a perfect example. We executed the strategy well, but the brake issue set us back just as we were gaining momentum. Now, it’s time to return to the factory, learn from this experience, and plan for the next race.”
Hamilton voiced his pride in the Ferrari team, stating, “I want to help deliver the results they and the Tifosi deserve. I see the progress we are making and the hard work that goes into every race. But this is Ferrari. Progress alone is not enough; to achieve greatness, we need to go further and be better. There is so much we can achieve together, and if we can build on our successes and address our challenges, I truly believe we will get there.”
Despite struggling in his first season with Ferrari, Hamilton remains optimistic. Fans had hoped he would secure an eighth championship title, but both he and teammate Charles Leclerc have faced difficulties with the SF-25. After the race, Leclerc commented, “We made a good step forward, but we matched the progress of Red Bull and Mercedes. McLaren has been dominating since the start of the season, which is disappointing. However, I’m happy with how I’m performing—I just wish we were contending for victories.”
As the season draws to a close, Ferrari is eager to turn their performance around, with the next challenge set at the Circuit of the Americas for the US Grand Prix next weekend.
