Lando Norris Triumphs at British Grand Prix Amid Oscar Piastri’s Controversial Penalty

He explained, "I hit the brakes, saw the safety car lights go off, and I didn’t accelerate again, but then Max passed me, which seemed odd. That’s when I got the penalty—it’s as simple as that. The pace was good; I did everything right; I just didn’t get the result I deserved."
After the race, Norris reflected on his emotional victory at his home Grand Prix: "The last few laps, I was soaking in the atmosphere," he shared. "I just wanted to enjoy the moment, as winning here might not happen again. These are memories I’ll cherish forever—an incredible achievement."
Norris also praised Piastri’s performance, stating, "In terms of stress, this race was as intense as it gets. Oscar was fast throughout, and I have to give him credit. He put up a great fight, and I enjoy racing alongside him, even if it’s more fun when I’m ahead!"
