Exciting News: Documentary on Kristoff St. John in Development by Fallen Giant Films

Fallen Giant Films, the production company founded by actor and filmmaker Randy J. Goodwin, has announced an upcoming documentary that will explore the remarkable life and enduring legacy of the beloved soap opera star Kristoff St. John. Directed by Bobby Razak, this documentary, titled "Kristoff," will take viewers on a compelling journey through St. John’s evolution from a talented child actor to his iconic role as Neil Winters on The Young and the Restless—a groundbreaking character that became a staple in television history.

The film promises to offer an intimate and candid look at St. John’s life, focusing on his professional achievements and personal challenges, including his battles with mental health and the profound impact of personal loss. St. John’s contributions to both television and the Black entertainment community are significant; he received two Daytime Emmy Awards and ten NAACP Image Awards for his long-running role on The Young and the Restless, which he portrayed from 1991 until his untimely passing in February 2019. His impressive resume also includes two Daytime Emmy nominations for his work on NBC’s Generations and a prominent role in ABC’s miniseries Roots: The Next Generations.

For Randy J. Goodwin, this project is deeply personal. He shared, “Kristoff was not just an incredibly talented actor; he was my closest friend and brother. This documentary serves as both a heartfelt tribute and a truthful exploration of his complex personality. With Bobby Razak at the helm, we are committed to portraying Kristoff’s story with the emotional depth and artistic integrity he truly deserves.”

Joining the team is Kristoff’s ex-wife, Mia St. John, a five-time boxing champion and mother to two of his three children, including their son Julian, whose tragic passing adds another layer of poignancy to the narrative. The documentary is scheduled for release early next year, and alongside it, a scripted biopic about Kristoff’s life is also in the works.

Bobby Razak, known for his impactful films such as Mask on TapouT apparel’s Charles Lewis, Fallen Soldier about middleweight champion Gerald McClellan, and Mexican Fighter, which highlights the influence of Mexican fighters in mixed martial arts, brings a wealth of experience to this project. Randy J. Goodwin, whose producing credits include Look Like Somebody: The Ricky C. Simmons Story, The Job, The Call, and The Holy Man, continues to showcase his talents both behind the scenes and in front of the camera, with recent acting roles in Star Trek: Picard, All American: Homecoming, Dynasty, and NCIS. He is represented by Global Artists Agency and Rugolo Entertainment.

Stay tuned for more updates on this poignant documentary that promises to honor the legacy of an extraordinary artist and friend.
