Jennifer Lawrence Opens Up About Her Experience Filming Die My Love with Robert Pattinson
Jennifer Lawrence recently shared insights into her time on the set of the highly anticipated film Die My Love, where she stars alongside Robert Pattinson. Directed by Lynne Ramsay, who co-wrote the screenplay with Enda Walsh and Alice Birch, the film tells the poignant story of Grace (played by Lawrence), who struggles with postpartum depression and, together with her partner Jackson (Pattinson), descends into psychosis.
In a recent episode of the Las Culturistas podcast, Lawrence discussed the unique bond she formed with Pattinson during filming, particularly through their dance lessons, which she described as effective team-building exercises. “We did dance lessons together, which were incredibly helpful for the choreography of our intimate scenes and fight sequences,” she explained.
The conversation also touched on the role of intimacy coordinators, a position that has gained prominence following the #MeToo movement. While Lawrence couldn’t recall if they had one on set, she emphasized her comfort working with Pattinson. “I felt really safe with him,” she stated. “He’s not inappropriate and is very much in love with his partner, Suki Waterhouse. We mostly discussed our families and relationships, so there was no awkwardness or concern about any romantic tension.”
Lawrence noted that if she had sensed any discomfort or awkwardness, she might have requested an intimacy coordinator. “A lot of male actors can take offense if you set boundaries, but he wasn’t like that,” she clarified.
Additionally, Lawrence reflected on her experience with nudity in the film, which she filmed while pregnant with her second child. “I’m not sensitive about nudity,” she said. “Being pregnant helped me let go of vanity concerns. Before No Hard Feelings, I was focused on dieting and working out, but while filming Die My Love, I embraced my body and its changes.”
Die My Love is set to hit theaters on November 7 and features an impressive cast, including LaKeith Stanfield, Nick Nolte, Sissy Spacek, Gabrielle Rose, Debs Howard, Sarah Lind, and Marcus Della Rosa. Don’t miss this gripping exploration of motherhood, mental health, and the intricacies of intimate relationships.
