Jennifer Lawrence Opens Up About Filming Intimate Scenes in “Die My Love” on Las Culturistas Podcast
During her promotional tour for the highly anticipated film “Die My Love,” Jennifer Lawrence made a special appearance on the “Las Culturistas” podcast, where she discussed her experience filming intimate scenes with co-star Robert Pattinson. Directed by Lynne Ramsay, this psychodrama explores the psychological turmoil of a woman descending into psychosis following childbirth, with Lawrence portraying the lead role and Pattinson as her increasingly ineffective husband.
In a candid conversation, Lawrence revealed that she did not require an intimacy coordinator for the film’s sex scenes, stating, “We did not have [an intimacy coordinator], or maybe we did but we didn’t really… I felt really safe with Rob.” She praised Pattinson for his professionalism and respectfulness during filming, noting, “He is not pervy and is very in love with [partner] Suki Waterhouse. We mostly talked about our kids and relationships, and there was never any weird tension like, ‘Does he think I like him?’ If that had been the case, I would have probably asked for an intimacy coordinator. Many male actors can feel offended if you’re not interested in them, but he was not like that at all.”
Lawrence, who has garnered critical acclaim and Oscar buzz for her role in “Die My Love,” also filmed some nude scenes while pregnant with her second child. Reflecting on her decision to embrace nudity in the film, she shared, “I don’t care about nudity. I’m not sensitive about it. I wanted Lynne to have total artistic freedom. Being pregnant took away a lot of vanity anxiety.” This attitude marked a departure from her experience filming the R-rated comedy “No Hard Feelings,” where she focused heavily on her fitness and diet.
“I remember them sending over a close-up of cellulite and asking if I wanted it touched up. I was like, ‘No. That’s an ass,’” Lawrence recalled with confidence.
“Die My Love” is set to hit theaters on November 7, released by Mubi. For more insights from Jennifer Lawrence, be sure to listen to her full interview on the “Las Culturistas” podcast.
