Jack White took a moment to thank a variety of musical influences, from Loretta Lynn to Fugazi, and acknowledged the contributions of places that inspired their art, like Detroit’s factories and Nashville’s honky-tonks. He encouraged young artists to immerse themselves in their craft: “Get obsessed with something. We want to share in what you create.”
During the ceremony, White read a touching parable about a brother and sister who built a parade float in their garage, symbolizing the joy of creativity and connection. He concluded with heartfelt gratitude, saying, “My sister thanks you, and I thank you.”
