In an impressive showdown on Thursday night, New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart led his team to a remarkable 34-17 victory over the defending Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. The game was filled with drama, including Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts throwing his first interception of the season and stirring up controversy with a series of four consecutive "tush push" plays.
The Eagles managed to score their first touchdown during this sequence of repetitive plays near the Giants’ 10-yard line. However, the referees missed a critical false start on one of those plays, which added to the tension. Prominent figures, including Green Bay Packers linebacker Micah Parsons and Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, voiced their criticism on social media regarding the Eagles’ overuse of this controversial tactic.
During the game, Dart faced a moment of concern when he had to leave the field for a medical check after a third-quarter hit. Despite this setback, he returned quickly to lead the Giants on a pivotal touchdown drive, extending their lead to 17 points.
In addition to Dart’s impressive performance, Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo made a significant impact, scoring touchdowns from 4 yards out and twice from the 1-yard line.
