Quiver Distribution Secures North American Rights to Raven DeShay Carter’s Debut Film "Noseeums"
In an exciting development for horror film enthusiasts, Quiver Distribution has officially acquired the North American distribution rights to "Noseeums," the highly anticipated feature debut from Austin-based director Raven DeShay Carter. This acquisition follows the film’s impressive U.S. premiere at the Mill Valley Film Festival and its world premiere at FrightFest in London.
"Noseeums," filmed entirely in the scenic landscapes of Florida, is a socially charged horror feature that artfully combines supernatural elements with a rich Southern Gothic atmosphere. The gripping storyline follows Ember, a Black college student who is invited to a rural estate for a weekend getaway with her white classmates. During her stay, she confronts spectral retribution deeply intertwined with the historical loss of Black land ownership in the American South.
Raven DeShay Carter, a talented filmmaker who graduated from Florida State University’s College of Motion Picture Arts, marks her entry into the film industry with "Noseeums." The deal for distribution was facilitated by Michael Favelle of Odin’s Eye Entertainment, along with Paul E. Cohen representing Torchlight Studios, and Larry Greenberg from Quiver Distribution.
