Beta Cinema Secures Global Distribution for Fatih Akin’s "Amrum" Ahead of German Release
Beta Cinema has announced an exciting new wave of international distribution agreements for "Amrum," the latest film by acclaimed director Fatih Akin, which made its debut at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. This highly anticipated drama is set to hit German theaters, distributed by Warner Bros., on Thursday.
"Amrum" has garnered attention worldwide, with distribution deals secured in various regions. Notable acquisitions include:

Earlier this year, additional distribution agreements were announced for North America (Kino Lorber), France (Dulac Distribution), Spain (A Contracorriente), Japan (Bitters End), and Benelux (Cherry Pickers), among others.

"Amrum" is a poignant and visually captivating drama that tells the story of 12-year-old Nanning as he unravels his family’s secrets during the final weeks of World War II on the isolated island of Amrum. Inspired by true events, the film features a talented cast, including newcomer Jasper Billerbeck in the lead role, along with Laura Tonke ("AEIOU," "The People vs. Fritz Bauer"), Lisa Hagmeister ("System Crasher"), Kian Köppke, Matthias Schweighöfer ("Army of the Dead"), and Diane Kruger ("In the Fade," "Inglourious Basterds").
