California Father Calls Kids Heroes After Road Rage Attack
In a harrowing incident earlier this month, a California father has hailed his two young children as heroes after their quick thinking helped save his life during a violent road rage attack. Chris Davison, 38, is currently recovering from multiple stab wounds sustained on October 17 in Ramona, California. His family has set up a GoFundMe page to support his recovery.
According to Chris’s wife, the family’s normal day took a terrifying turn. "On October 17th, our lives changed forever. My husband, Chris, was taking our two young children to a pumpkin patch when an unprovoked act of violence turned a normal family outing into a living nightmare," she detailed on the fundraiser page.
A Family Outing Turns into a Nightmare
While driving to a Halloween festival with his 6-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son, Chris experienced a terrifying road rage attack. Following closely behind him on a San Diego County interstate was a black pickup truck, driven by Noah Kane. The driver aggressively revved his engine and forced Chris’s vehicle off the road multiple times. When Chris pulled over to assess the situation, Kane stopped, exited his vehicle, and attacked him with a knife.
Describing the assailant, Chris recounted, "Not one word, just a demonic stare in this man’s eyes," during an interview with ABC 10News San Diego.
Children Step Up in Crisis
After Chris was stabbed multiple times in front of his frightened children, he collapsed on the roadside. Despite their fear, both kids sprang into action. His 8-year-old son first attempted to stop the bleeding with a dinosaur sticker, then used a phone charger cord to tie around one of his father’s wounds. Meanwhile, his 6-year-old daughter bravely hung out of the car window, crying for help while wearing her princess dress. "My son was screaming, ‘Stay awake, Dad. Stay awake,’" Chris recalled.
A family friend, who had been following the Davison family on a motorcycle, arrived shortly after the attack, cleaned Chris’s phone, and promptly called 911.
Authorities later apprehended Noah Kane in connection with the assault, confirming to FOX5/KUSI that Chris’s injuries were serious but not life-threatening.
Miraculous Survival and Recovery Ahead
Chris’s wife expressed immense gratitude for his survival, describing it as "nothing short of a miracle." She noted, "His injuries were severe, but somehow no major organs were hit. We truly believe God was with him that day." Now back home, Chris is surrounded by his loved ones as he begins his recovery journey.
While the family is thankful for Chris’s life, they face a challenging road ahead. "Our children witnessed everything. We are now facing the long road of trauma therapy, medical follow-ups, and lost income while Chris heals," she added.
As the Davison family navigates this difficult time, they are thankful for the support they’ve received. If you would like to contribute to their recovery, visit their GoFundMe page.
