Lewis Hamilton has been vocal in his criticism of the FIA regarding a recent rule aimed at reducing front wing flexibility in Formula 1. The seven-time world champion expressed his frustrations at the Spanish Grand Prix, labeling the regulation as a “waste of money.”
Hamilton stated, “It’s just wasted everyone’s money. It hasn’t changed anything.” He pointed out that while the new rule aims to limit wing flexibility, teams are still experiencing bending, albeit to a lesser extent. “Everyone has had to invest in new wings, which only adds to the expenses. It just doesn’t make sense.”
He further elaborated, “I tested the changes on the simulator, and the performance feels almost identical. There’s just a bit more oversteer at high speeds. Honestly, we could have donated that money to charity instead!”
With the cost of new front wings reaching up to £100,000, Hamilton’s concerns highlight the financial implications of the regulation changes in F1. As the debate continues, many are left questioning the effectiveness of the FIA’s latest measures.
