Exciting News: Emily Deschanel Joins Amelia Brantley in Indie Film "Monkey Bread"
Emily Deschanel, renowned for her role in the hit series Bones, is set to star alongside Amelia Brantley in the upcoming indie film Monkey Bread. This project marks Brantley’s debut as a feature film director, and she also wrote the screenplay.
Monkey Bread delves into the bittersweet journey of navigating life in Los Angeles as a struggling actor in her thirties. The film tells the story of Ruth (played by Brantley), who finds herself teetering between the excitement of her dreams and the harsh reality of disappointment. When she lands a babysitting job for one of her idols, Ruth confronts the life she has always envisioned for herself.
Emily Deschanel takes on the role of a movie star balancing the demands of family, motherhood, and a thriving career. The impressive cast also includes Samuel Hunt from Chicago P.D., Grant Jordan of Howdy, Neighbor!, newcomer Ethan Lichterman, and Keith Kupferer from Ghostlight.
Amelia Brantley and Brenden Rodriguez are producing the film, while Hunt, Dan Steinberg, and Robert Massar are serving as executive producers. Currently, production is taking place in Los Angeles and Chicago.
