Chloe Kelly Apologizes for Colorful Language During Euro 2022 Trophy Celebrations

England football star Chloe Kelly has issued an apology after her spirited celebration speech during the trophy parade in London featured some colorful language. The Lionesses made a triumphant return home from Switzerland on Monday, having secured their victory against Spain in a thrilling penalty shootout, with Kelly scoring the decisive spot-kick.

As thousands of enthusiastic fans lined the streets of London to celebrate their heroes, an open-top bus parade was organized to showcase the team on Tuesday. Among the cheering crowds were many families and children, particularly at Buckingham Palace, where a stage was set up for the players to address their supporters.

During the celebrations, Kelly took to the microphone and expressed her gratitude, stating, “Thank you to everyone that got out to support us, whether that’s out in Switzerland or here today. It’s so f** special.” This prompted an immediate response from BBC presenter Alex Scott, leading Kelly to later express her regrets.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, the Arsenal star reflected on her emotional moment, writing, “Oops. Emotions got the better of me. Sorry for the F bomb. Love, CK x.” This isn’t the first time Kelly’s passionate remarks have stirred up a buzz; during her post-match interview with ITV following England’s victory over Spain, she remarked, "This team is made of magic and steel. When we were down against Sweden and Italy, we f*****g showed grit and determination and came back. You can’t write off the English."

The 27-year-old also made headlines when she was caught on camera exclaiming an expletive after receiving her medal from Prince William, enthusiastically declaring, "F***ing come on."

England captain Leah Williamson also took the stage at Buckingham Palace, sharing her heartfelt sentiments: “Everything we do, obviously we do it for us and our team, but we do it for the country and we do it for young girls. Thank you so much for being with us. Stay with us, this story is not done yet.” Her inspiring words resonated with the massive crowd, as England flags waved proudly in a sea of red and white.

With this victory, England has now claimed the European Championship title for the second consecutive time, having also triumphed in 2022. The team reached the World Cup final last year but faced defeat against Spain, though they have since avenged that loss on the European stage.
