Henley explained his decision to play despite the tragedy, saying, "Right now, I’m just floating, and the only thing that’s consistent in my life is football. For me, that’s why I’m out there; it’s the most stable thing I have right now." This commitment to the game became a source of solace amid the turmoil he was experiencing.

Henley also credited Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh for his unwavering support during this difficult period. “He’s probably been the first call I’ve gotten for every situation,” Henley noted. “He’s been there, right there, telling me to keep my head down, keep grinding, keep working, and try to stay consistent.”
