Brad Pitt Open to Collaboration with Tom Cruise—But Only on One Condition!

Hollywood icons Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise may have shared the screen in the classic 1994 film Interview with the Vampire, but the two superstars are also known for their friendship and shared interests, including go-kart racing. Recently, during an interview with E! News, Pitt expressed his openness to working with Cruise again, but he has a clear stipulation: “I’m not gonna hang my ass off airplanes and sh*t like that,” he said, indicating he prefers ground-level stunts.

Pitt’s comments come as no surprise, given Cruise’s reputation for performing jaw-dropping, death-defying stunts in his films, particularly in the Mission: Impossible series. Director Joseph Kosinski, who recently worked with Cruise on Top Gun: Maverick, highlighted the stark contrast between the two actors’ approaches to stunts. “Tom always pushes it to the limit but is incredibly skilled,” Kosinski noted, while also acknowledging that both actors possess exceptional driving talent.

Graham Kelly, the action-vehicle supervisor for Cruise’s projects, echoed these sentiments. He remarked, “Tom really pushes it to the limit, which can be terrifying for someone like me who builds cars for him.” In contrast, he praised Pitt for being more cautious, saying, “Brad knows his abilities and would likely be the first to say, ‘Yeah, I’m not going to do that.’”

Pitt’s next project, an Apple Originals Film set to release in theaters on June 27, features him as Sonny Hayes, a washed-up race car driver attempting a comeback after a tragic accident. The film, made in collaboration with Formula 1 and its ten teams, also stars Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo, though reports indicate that Simone Ashley’s role has been reduced.

Describing the film, Pitt shared with E! News, “It’s big, it’s huge. The driving is off the charts, but it’s also fun, funny, and surprisingly moving.” He went on to explain the exhilarating experience of operating a Formula 1 vehicle, stating, “The feeling of downforce is something otherworldly. It’s unlike anything I’ve experienced before—neither on a rollercoaster nor in an aerobatic plane.”

In addition to his role in the F1 film, Pitt is set to reprise his acclaimed character, Cliff Booth, in Netflix’s upcoming project, The Adventures of Cliff Booth, a role that earned him the Best Supporting Actor Oscar in 2020, as reported by Deadline last week.

Stay tuned for more updates on Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise as they continue to make waves in Hollywood!
